useful + beautiful: contemporary design for the home at the Geffrye Museum

Irene and I popped over to our near neighbour the Geffrye Museum to catch its latest exhibition – useful + beautiful: contemporary design for the home. The Geffrye Museum is devoted to the history of the home, showing how homes and gardens reflect changes in society, behaviour, style and taste over the past 400 years. Its latest show presents a selection of cutting edge design for the home by both well-established industry figures and emerging talent. A broad range of domestic products is showcased, from furniture to wallpaper, textiles, lighting and technology. The exhibition highlights products by designers from Piet Hein Eek, Barber Osgerby, and Jasper Morrison to Ed Carpenter, Michael Anastassiades and Studio Drift. useful + beautiful is a great show and well worth a trip to East London.

useful + beautiful: 136 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8EA. Until August 25th.
