Kingside New American at the Viceroy Hotel New York

On my recent trip to New York I seized the opportunity to visit Kingside the restaurant in the much-anticipated new Viceroy Hotel. Both the hotel and the restaurant have been designed by Roman and Williams, who also designed the Ace Hotel in New York. Kingside, which is located on street level just off the hotel lobby brings together two of New York’s hottest talents – bar impresario Scott Gerber, and Chef Marc Murphy. The space, has an open kitchen, black and white tile floors, mirrors on the walls, and lots of caramel-colored leather banquettes and feels very much like a European brasserie. The menu features Chef Marc Murphy’s interpretation of New American Cooking, alongside Gerber’s renowned bar program of handcrafted cocktails. Despite being a hotel restaurant on bustling W 57th Street Kingside has a real neighbourhood restaurant feel and I really enjoyed my lunch there and will definitely be going back.
